Actress Frances Grant Starr, who lived in Albany, New York, is featured in a portrait wearing a yellow dress. The portrait was created by her husband, illustrator Haskell Coffin, a year after they married in New York City. Starr was known for her graceful walk and lightness on stage. She passed away in 1973 and is buried at Albany Rural Cemetery. The portrait, done in pastel and gouache on artist's board, is part of the Albany Institute of History & Art's collection.
