Albany Airport Recognizes Aviation Maintenance Technicians on Charles Taylor Day
by Todd Vandersline / Albanylocal.org
Albany International Airport in Albany, New York, reports that the number of parts in an aircraft can range from thousands to millions, depending on its size, make, and model. Aviation Maintenance Technician Day is celebrated to recognize the individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to maintain aircraft and ensure the safety of travelers.
The day was established in honor of Charles Edward Taylor, a machinist who joined the Wright Brothers in 1902. Taylor played a crucial role in building the 12-horsepower engine that powered the Wright Brothers' airplane during the historic flight on December 17, 1903.
Albany International Airport expresses gratitude for the dedication and service of their Aviation Maintenance Technicians. Additionally, the airport is anticipating the arrival of future AMTs who will soon begin classes at the Aeronautical Technical Institute at Hudson Valley Community College.
