Auburn's Wall Street Playground Reconstruction Begins Soon

The City of Auburn Office of Planning and Economic Development has announced the commencement of the Wall Street Playground Phase 1 reconstruction. This phase includes several key features: demolition and clearing of existing structures, grading and drainage improvements, the addition of an asphalt walkway, and the installation of a picket fence at the top of the river bank. Playground equipment will include a swing set with rubber mulch and benches for visitors.
Phase I is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2024. Plans for Phase II include the construction of a new pavilion, resurfacing of the basketball court, and the installation of a spider web climber. This second phase is expected to be bid out next year and completed in the fall of 2025.
The funding for this playground upgrade is provided by federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.
