The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office is reminding the public to be vigilant against scams and fraudulent activity, especially with the holiday season approaching. They highlight the importance of protecting older adults, who are often more vulnerable to financial abuse.

If you or someone you know who is 60 or older has been the victim of a crime, you can reach out to the Elder Justice Unit for assistance. They can be contacted at 215-686-5700 or via email at DA_Elder_VW@phila.gov.

The Elder Justice Unit focuses on prosecuting crimes against victims over the age of 60, as well as some cases involving individuals under 60 who have cognitive impairments. The office has provided tips aimed at preventing financial abuse, which can benefit individuals of all ages, but are particularly crucial for older adults.
