Detective Cribbs Named Detective of the Month

Staff Report / jaxlocal.org

Detective Lauren Cribbs of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has been named Detective of the Month for her significant contributions to solving cold cases involving sexual assaults. Utilizing familial DNA testing, Detective Cribbs linked multiple assault cases to a single suspect, who had violently attacked women in the Eastside and Brentwood neighborhoods.

These assaults date back over 20 years prior to the suspect's arrest. Through her dedication and the application of this new technology, Detective Cribbs was able to hold the suspect accountable for his actions and provide closure to the victims involved.
