**Creech Road Elementary Teacher Receives Velle Cares Award**

Apex, North Carolina - Morgan Cheney, a third-grade teacher at Creech Road Elementary, was honored today by North Carolina Central University men's basketball head coach LeVelle Moton with the Velle Cares Award. This award recognizes exceptional service to students and has been presented by Coach Moton to 16 teachers since 2019.

Ms. Cheney is actively involved in various programs at the school, including leading the First Tee golf program and coaching the soccer team. She is also in the process of re-launching the basketball team, which was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she chairs the Family Engagement committee and has been instrumental in organizing events that connect families with the school community.

Her nomination for the award came from her colleague, Jessica Black.
