Heavy Snowfall Hits Scranton, Lackawanna County This Weekend
A winter storm warning has been issued for Lackawanna County in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The storm is expected to begin early Sunday morning and continue into Monday. The most intense snowfall is forecasted to occur from Sunday morning through Sunday evening, with possible snow bands producing snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour. Total snow accumulations could reach 18 inches or more.
The winter storm warning is effective from 1:00 AM Sunday through 7:00 PM Monday for all counties in the region. In addition to heavy snowfall, cold air is anticipated to remain in place through most of next week with temperatures well below average.
