City Police Honored for DWI Safety Efforts
On April 30, Chief Eveland, Lieutenant Bielowicz, and Officer Hall traveled to Albany to attend the 2025 Law Enforcement Recognition Event. The event is sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, and NYS Stop DWI.
During the event, the City of Geneva Police Department was selected as the Department of the Year for agencies with 1-50 members. The department’s efforts in expanding its DWI program were highlighted as a key reason for the nomination and selection.
Officer Brett Hall was recognized for the second year in a row with the Recognition of Excellence Award for his commitment to traffic safety and reducing impaired driving.
