Sheriff Baxter, along with other New York State Sheriffs' Association members, gathered at the executive mansion in Albany to mark Law Enforcement Appreciation Month. The group discussed with Governor Kathy Hochul about supporting law enforcement officers in terms of their wellness and mental health. Governor Hochul emphasized the importance of the public showing respect towards law enforcement and commended the police officers for their work. She also made it clear that her administration does not support defunding the police.
