Albany High School senior Masami Surisawa, a two-time Section 2 singles tennis champion, recently wrapped up his high school tennis career at the state championships in New York City. Having finished the season with a flawless 21-0 record, he won his initial match at states before being defeated by the tournament's top seed in the round of 16.

In addition to his tennis achievements, Surisawa is also a talented trombonist. He will be departing for France on Tuesday with the Albany Marching Falcons, one of the two U.S. marching bands invited by the French government to partake in the country's 80th anniversary commemoration of the D-Day invasion during World War II.
