A homicide occurred on November 7, 2022, in the 6400 block of East 1st Street, also referred to as SWD 62, at approximately 5:56 p.m. The victim, identified as Shelby Wayne Cody, was a 42-year-old white male born on December 27, 1979. Lavonte Harrison, a 30-year-old black male, has been arrested in connection with the case. The Austin Police Department held a press conference to address the ongoing homicide investigation related to this incident.
