Sisters Continue Family Legacy of Cranberry Farming

Staff Report / FLXlocal.org

Sisters Alison Gilmore Carr and Abigail Gilmore Anderson are continuing the family tradition of managing their cranberry farm in eastern Massachusetts. Alison graduated from Cornell University in 2001, and Abigail completed her degree in 2004. Both sisters studied agricultural business management in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. During their time at Cornell, they returned home during fall breaks to assist with the annual cranberry harvest. Today, they are working alongside their mother to run the family farm.
