Adopt a Working Cat, Help Control Rodents
Staff Report / PHLlocal.org
**Adopt a Working Cat through PAWS’ Program**
The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is inviting residents with outdoor space to consider adopting a “working cat” to help with natural rodent control. This program is designed for cats that thrive with outdoor access while still having a warm indoor home.
PAWS generally requires adopted cats to be indoor-only, but the Working Cat program allows for a unique living situation. Adopters provide basic care for the cats while the cats offer companionship and assist in keeping rodent populations in check.
One cat currently available is Passie, a 7-year-old feline who enjoys human interaction and playful exploration. She is looking for a home that provides plenty of space and is ideally suited for an adult-only environment.
Interested individuals can reach out for more information by emailing workingcats@phillypaws.org.
