Thirteen Gun-Related Arrests in Buffalo Last Week

The Buffalo Police Department reported that there were thirteen gun-related arrests made between November 11 and November 17, 2024, with a total of nine firearms recovered during this period.
On November 12, Parris Stevens, 38, was arrested on the 300 block of Busti Avenue. He was found in possession of a defaced firearm equipped with a switch that allows it to fire automatically, along with an extended magazine. Stevens has a previous felony conviction. The District Attorney's office requested that he be remanded, and Judge Shannon Heneghan set bail at $25,000 A and $50,000 B-E.
Also on November 12, David Niyomana, 18, was arrested on the 300 block of Potomac Avenue. He was found with a loaded Stroeger STR-9 handgun featuring an extended magazine. The District Attorney's office requested remand, and Judge Heneghan imposed bail at $25,000 A and $50,000 B-E. Niyomana was released after his arrest.
On November 13, Jonathan Magee, 43, was arrested on the 400 block of Skillen Street. He possessed a self-made .223 caliber rifle, which included a pistol grip, affixed flashlight, thumbhole stock, and a retractable stock, classifying it as an assault weapon under New York State law. The District Attorney's office requested remand, and further details on his judicial processing were not provided in the release.
