UCLA Celebrates Mariachi Music's Cultural Significance

Mariachi music has sparked interest for many, including UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music's violinist, Camila Cordero. Cordero was introduced to mariachi music in the eighth grade and has since embraced the cultural significance of this genre. The university celebrates this musical tradition through its Mariachi de Uclatlán group, highlighting the contributions of its musicians and the rich culture they represent. The program continues to reflect pride in the art form within the UCLA community.
