**Students from A Star Foundation Advocate for Youth Mental Health in Washington, D.C.**

Twenty-five students from the A Star Foundation traveled to Washington, D.C., to address youth mental health and suicide prevention. They spoke at both the White House and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, presenting strategies to help peers manage stress and anxiety.

Among the student advocates was Kennadi Larkins, a senior at First Coast High School. She participated in a panel discussing Black youth suicide and shared resilience-building strategies. The students also discussed the foundation's leadership program, mental health challenges, and the EmpowerME app during their presentations.

The event highlighted the achievements of Duval County Public Schools and the Jacksonville community. Betty Burney, the founder of A Star Foundation, was recognized for her leadership, along with City Councilwoman Tyrona Clark Murray, who read a resolution honoring the foundation.
